Chef John is as much about building relationships with people as he is about cooking. After a career in Oil & Gas, the Auto Industry, and Banking, his love for food and cooking took over and John decided it was time to follow his dream.  He enrolled at the Texas Culinary Academy (TCA), in their prestigious Le Cordon Bleu Program. “I grew up in the household where cooking was not a priority. The classes focused on the foundations of good cooking, technical skills and provided hands-on experience taught by top chefs from Austin and around the world.” John graduated from the Le Cordon Bleu program with honors in January of 2007. He continues to cook with and pick the brains of local Chefs, and knows he has only opened the cover of the book of cooking. “Attending school was an incredible learning experience but for me, I learn something new every time I prepare a meal.  Whether with friends or clients, I love learning from those who have a rich family history of preparing meals together.  A great satisfaction comes from seeing the inner chef come out in someone who doesn’t think they know their way around a kitchen. When a person watches one of my videos and then posts a picture of their own creation, or they leave my kitchen, class, or a teambuilding experience and tell me that they can’t wait to go home and try a recipe on their own, I feel truly rewarded.”
John lives in Dallas, Texas with his wife Kim, who sometimes has fun being his sous chef.  Their son Taylor has benefited from spending time in the kitchen with his dad, which is valuable now that he is on his own.  When not cooking, John likes to golf, watch the Dallas Cowboys, or walk the neighborhood with Bentley, his golden doodle.
